Transporting pets to Hawaii Moving your pets here from the mainland can be a bit intimidating but it doesn't have to be. Preparing your pet for the 5 day or less program does take a bit of time and money but it eliminates the need for a lengthy quarantine here in Hawaii and now enables you to have your pet reunited with you by "direct-release” from any of the outer islands. It takes about 4 months (120 days) of preparation prior to your move and is not available to pets under 10 months of age due to the length of time needed to prepare a pet. There will be a few trips to your mainland vet for blood work, having a microchip inserted, rabies testing and finally a health certification and final pest treatment. The following is a link to state where you may browse for information of the 5 Day or Less Program and find a checklist for the Direct Release Program: http://hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/aqs/animal-quarantine- information-page/ The Hawaii Animal Quarantine Station can be reached at: Phone: (808) 483-7151 Email: rabiesfree@hawaigov Website: http://hdoa.hawaii.gov Major Airlines – Pet Policy links: American Airlines - https://www.aa.com/i18n/travelInformation/specialAssistance/pets.jsp United Airlines - https://www.united.com/web/en- US/content/travel/animals/restrictions.aspx Alaskan Airlines - https://www.alaskaair.com/content/travel- info/policies/pets-traveling-with-pets.aspx?lid=nav:info-pets Hawaiian Airlines - https://www.hawaiianairlines.com/our- services/special-assistance/traveling-with-animals Delta -http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/special-travel-needs/pets.html Big Island Veterinarian services providing direct release service from Kona Keahole International Airport: Keauhou Veterinary Hospital, LLC. - http://keauhouvet.com Kona Veterinary Service - http://www.konavetservice.com

Aloha, here I am playing catch up on my website. So much has happened in the past year and I have been truly blessed to be a part of it all. In December I was voted in as "Rookie Realtor of the Year" by the West Hawaii Association of Realtors and wouldn't you know, I was on the mainland and not even on the island at the time. Not only that but my Principal Broker Dave Lucas was voted in as Broker of the year! I love what I do and I am so proud to be a part of the ohana at Koa Realty!
